Meet the Bastrop Team Behind Otto’s Garage Door

We’ve been fixing and installing garage doors across Bastrop County since 2004, and the crew you’ll see pulling up to your driveway are people Otto knows by name, not faces pulled from a rotating roster. Every one of us lives within thirty minutes of the shop. That matters when your spring lets go at nine at night and your truck is sealed inside the garage. We’re background-checked, uniformed, and trained on every major brand you’re likely to own: LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Craftsman, and Raynor. When you call (737) 260-7243, a live person answers, and the person who quotes your job is the same person who shakes your hand at the door.

Our People

Otto Reinhardt – Owner, Lead Technician

Otto founded this company in 2004 and still runs it the way he did on the first day: he answers the phone, quotes the job on the call, and shows up with his name on the van and on the invoice. After 29 years in the trade, he’s seen every failure mode a residential door can offer, from snapped torsion springs in Tahitian Village to opener logic boards fried by a Cedar Creek power surge. He counts spring cycles the way most people count tire miles, and he’ll tell you exactly what’s left on yours before he recommends replacing anything. Otto is the one who holds the price he quoted, even when he finds more work behind the panel than either of you expected. When you call with a question, you’ll often get Otto himself, not a queue.

Marcus T. – Senior Installer

Marcus has been setting doors with Otto for close to a decade, and he’s the one we send when a new Clopay or Amarr door needs to go in square the first time, every time. He’s trained on the full catalog from every brand we service, but he has a particular knack for retrofitting older Bastrop homes where the opening hasn’t been level since the house was built in the eighties. Marcus is the one who’ll walk you through why your new door needs reinforcement struts before hurricane season, showing you the difference on site rather than talking over your head. When he’s not bolting track to a garage ceiling, he’s rebuilding a 1972 Chevy C10 in his own garage, which is ironically the one door on his street that still squeaks.

Elena R. – Service Coordinator

Elena joined Otto’s Garage Door four years ago and knows the schedule for every job before the truck leaves the shop. She’s the one who takes your call at six in the morning or eleven at night, writes down what you’re hearing from the opener, and makes sure the right parts are on the truck before anyone turns a key. Elena grew up in Smithville and still knows half the county from high school, which means she can tell Chris to take the back route to your place when Highway 71 is backed up. She’s also the person who calls you thirty minutes before arrival, every time, no exceptions. If you’ve ever called with a question about a written estimate, Elena is the one who makes the second opinion happen without a runaround.

Chris W. – Apprentice Technician

Chris came to us three years ago straight out of the high school trades program in Bastrop, and he’s worked his way from hauling door panels to running his own calls with Otto still listening in on the tricky ones. He’s LiftMaster and Genie certified on opener installs and he’s fast at diagnosing what’s wrong with a door that won’t balance, which is where most apprentices wash out. Chris is the one who double-checks the safety sensors on every job and will not leave until the door reverses cleanly on his test block. He’s young enough to still be excited about it, and old enough to respect a 200-pound door riding on two springs. On weekends he’s on the lake with a fishing rod, which is why he answers emergency calls with a little extra enthusiasm if they’re on the water side of the county.

One Standard, Every Job

Every person on this team carries the same rule book, and it has one page: quote the honest price on the phone, show up when we say we will, and write the 90-Day Done Right Promise on every invoice before we leave. If something isn’t right within ninety days, one call brings Otto back. No runaround, no customer-service queue, no revised price at the door. Each of us has the license and insurance to back the work, and Otto’s name and license number are published for any homeowner to verify before the truck arrives. We’re not a franchise with a national call center. We’re the people you’ll see at the hardware store on Saturday.
